2021 Panini Prizm Premier League

The 2021-22 Panini Prizm Premier League is the second annual installment of Panini's flagship EPL product, released March 9, 2022. Building on the inaugural release, it expanded the product line to six distinct box formats — the widest selection in Prizm PL history — each with its own exclusive parallel ecosystem. The 300-card base set covers all 20 Premier League clubs with 15 cards each. The parallel rainbow spans 32+ variants across formats: Hobby gets MultiColor, Hyper, Pink plus numbered from Blue /340 through Green /5 and Black 1/1. Choice offers Tiger Stripe and the coveted Nebula 1/1. H2 Hybrid introduces Cracked Ice /23 and Gold Mojo /10. Breakaway has its own full rainbow from unnumbered through Lime Green /5 and Black 1/1. FOTL adds exclusive Blue Shimmer variants. The hobby box delivers 144 cards with 1 auto, 4 Silver Prizms, 5 numbered parallels, 8 additional Prizms, and 6 inserts. The 60-card Signatures set leads the auto program, joined by Club Legends (10), Dual Signatures (9), and Flashback Autographs (17). Color Blast (25 cards) is the hobby-exclusive SSP insert that defines the Prizm brand — these cards command significant secondary market premiums. Eight insert sets (Brilliance, Color Blast, Emergent, Fireworks, Instant Impact, Scorers Club, Vigor, Widescreen) at 25 cards each deliver 6 inserts per hobby box. The combination of insert density and format-exclusive parallels means there's always something to chase regardless of which box format you choose. This release established the Prizm PL template that subsequent years would follow: massive parallel rainbow, format-exclusive chase, Color Blast as the premium SSP insert, and multiple box formats serving different collector preferences and budgets. The H2 and Breakaway formats in particular gave this year a unique identity within the Prizm PL lineage.
